Symptoms

1720 Error installing Web Interface on a server that has remapped drives.

Cause

1720 may occur when Web Interface MSI is trying to create Admin Tool Web Application by calling CTX_NFUSE_ConfigureAdminTool.1B7EF31F_FAB4_4A52_9C2C_760880C0AAF0

CTX_NFUSE: createAdminToolApp

If a log file is created of the MSI installation, the following is observed:

Resolution

1. Open registry editor, locate the following key and delete it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftCOM3

2. From the Start menu, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then click Add/Remove Programs.

3. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.

4. Proceed through the wizard and accept all of the defaults.

5. Restart the computer.

6. Uninstall IIS.

7. Install IIS.

The Web Interface Version 2.0 installs with no error.
