CTX103025 - Server Loads Incorrectly When Using Wyse Winterm 1200LE

Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003
Symptoms
Wyse Winterm 1200LE clients do not load balance and Wyse Winterm 1200LE terminals connect to a server with a disconnected session.
Cause
When users connect with any Citrix ICA Client, the client name and user name are passed to determine if a disconnected session is available for the users who are connecting. When using the Wyse Winterm 1200LE, the client name is not being passed. As a result, the IMA service cannot determine whether or not users belong to a disconnected session until they enter their credentials.
When the connection is initiated without the client name and the credentials stored in the connection settings, the IMA server sends users to a server with a disconnected session in hope that the user name will match that of a disconnected session. When a match occurs, a new session is not started on that server.
This also allows servers to become overloaded regardless of load evaluators.
Resolution
Wyse has a newer client that supports http browsing that sends the client name along with the published application name.
For information about the latest Wyse client, go to the Wyse Web site at Http://www.wyse.com/index.htm
In addition, the following needs to be added to the Wnos.ini file:
Connect=ica
ICAbrowsing=http
HttpBrowsing=yes
Browserip=XMLservers ip:port
fullscreen=1
autoconnect=1
application="MyPublishedAppName"
The port number needs to be added only if the XML port was changed from port 80.
