Symptom

Warning 27251. The installer has found an older version of the Citrix MetaFrame XP Provider. You must uninstall this older version before proceeding or the installer will be unable to install the Citrix MetaFrame XP provider.

Resolution

This GUI message merely supports the WMI readme. Below is an excerpt from the readme:

Usage Notes, Restrictions, and Known Problems

If you have already downloaded and installed a version of MetaFrame XP Provider, you must uninstall it if you intend to install and use Citrix MetaFrame XP Provider as part of your MetaFrame installation.

Upgrades from Feature Release 2 to Feature Release 3

If you are upgrading from MetaFrame XP Feature Release 2 to Feature Release 3, you must first uninstall any Feature Release 2 WMI component, then install your MetaFrame XP Feature Release 3 upgrade, and finally install the Feature Release 3 WMI component. If you do not uninstall a Feature Release 2 WMI Provider before upgrading, system behavior may be unpredictable.
