Symptoms
When setting up Web Interface Extension and attempting to access the logon page, the following error message sometimes appears:
“The server that hosts the Web Interface Extension cannot be contacted. Please contact your administrator.”
Cause
The Web Interface is configured to request application data from a MetaFrame server instead of the Web Interface Extension server.
Web Interface in normal mode:

Web Interface in WIE mode:

Resolution
In WIE mode, configure the Web Interface with the address and IIS port of a Web Interface Extension server instead of the XML service port of a MetaFrame server. Follow these steps to reconfigure the Web Interface Extension appropriately:
1. Point your browser to the Web Interface administration tool at /Citrix/MetaFrameXP/WIAdmin.
2. Select Citrix MetaFrame servers.
3. Remove the existing MetaFrame server address and replace it with the address of the Web Interface Extension server. The TCP/IP port number should match the IIS port on the WIE server (usually port 80).
4. Click Save and Apply Changes.
Note: If Installing the Web Interface on the same server as the Web Interface Extension, you can use localhost for the MetaFrame server name in WIAdmin.
Error: Enterprise Services for NFuse server cannot be contacted contains a similar issue with the previous version of NFuse Enterprise Version 1.7.
