Products: Citrix MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.0, Secure Gateway for MetaFrame 2.0

To disable automatic installation of the Gateway Client for MetaFrame in MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.0, you need the Citrix CDA editing utility located on our Citrix Developers Network Web site at http://apps.citrix.com/CDN/.

After you create an account and log on:

1. Select the Secure Access Manager link from the left side of the page.

2. Scroll down to the Basic Tools section.

3. Click CDA SDK for Script SDK.

4. From the far right column, download the CDASDKforScript.msi file.

5. Install this on your MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.0 server.

This installs an application called CDAPad.

Note: Before making any changes to an access center/portal, Citrix recommends that you export a copy of the existing access center/portal.

6.

Open the CDAPad application.

7. Select the access center/portal to which you are going to make changes.

8. Open the access center/portal you want to edit. From the menu bar, select View and select Framework CDAs.

The CDA that we are going to edit is called sbSessionInit.

After a user logs on and is validated to the access center/portal, a hidden page called initializesession is invoked that contains the CDA sbSessionInit. This page produces a special client-side JavaScript that detects if the Secure Gateway Client for MetaFrame is installed and downloads it, if necessary.

9. Scroll down to the sbSessionInit CDA and expand it. Expand the default node to edit the code responsible for disabling the client and browser detection.

10.

Search for the following code:

11. Add the following entries to the code to disable gateway client detection:

Note: The code added is surrounded by the black boxes.

12.

After you make the modification to the CDAs, save the changes by selecting Deploy All from the drop-down File menu or select the Deploy All Modified CDAs radio button.

Client detection is now disabled for the access center/portal.
