This document explains how to correct the situation where the Citrix SSL Relay service starts from a command line but not from the Services control panel.
Issue:
The Citrix SSL Relay service starts from command line but not from the services control panel.
Event Viewer may have the following in the System log:
The Citrix SSL Relay service terminated with service-specific error 10003.
Event Viewer may have the following in the Application Log:
Failed to set certificate for SSL interface. SSLRelaySocket.cpp: 581
Possible Cause:
The server certificate is present in the Current User/Personal/Certificates store but not in Local Computer/Personal/Certificates.
Solution:
1. Run MMC.exe and add the Certificate Snap-ins for Current User and Local Computer
2. In the current user dialog, select the server certificate, right click and select Export under All Tasks--be sure to export the private key. Save the certificate to a PFX file on your local hard drive.
3. From the Local Computer/Personal folder, right-click and select Import under All Tasks. Import the certificate you just exported, providing the password you created in the previous step.
4. After successfully importing the certificate to Local Computer/Personal/Certificates, delete the certificate from the Current User/Personal/Certificates store.
5. Run the Citrix SSL Relay Config utility and make sure that your certificate is selected. (If you did not delete the Certificate from the Current User, you may see the same certificate name twice.)
6. Start the Citrix SSL Relay in the Services control panel.
