Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000
Symptom
Users can connect to a server desktop with SSL Relay enabled, but when connecting to a published application one of the following error occurs:
Security Alert: The name on the security certificate does not match the name of the server: SSL Error 59
Or:
Your administrator has configured this application to only allow SSL connections. The MetaFrame server selected to host this application does not support SSL.
Cause
The MetaFrame server may not be aware of its FQDN.
Resolution
Verify that the host name and primary DNS suffix are set properly on the MetaFrame server:
Open a command prompt:
C:\>ipconfig /all
Windows 2000 IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : citrix1
Primary DNS Suffix . . . . . . . : domain.com
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : domain.com
If the Primary DNS Suffix is blank, the MetaFrame server is not aware of its FQDN and must have this set.
Set the domain name in the Network Identification tab in the System Properties for the server.
The Host Name + Primary DNS suffix must match the FQDN issued to the certificate.
e.g. citrix1.domain.com
This should enable SSL to work with Published Applications.
