Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000
Type of Vulnerability – Access Control
Affected Products:
• MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Windows, Feature Release 2
Platforms Affected: Windows
Languages Affected: All
Severity: Medium
Description of Problem
If a user attempts to launch an application from a server that does not publish that application, the user will launch a published desktop instead.
Detailed Description
If a user attempts to launch an application from a server that does not publish that application, the user will launch a published desktop instead. This will occur even if “Only run published applications” has been selected.
This can only arise if a published application is published on some, but not all, MetaFrame servers in a server farm.
It cannot arise if applications are launched via NFuse Classic, since NFuse Classic will only launch applications from servers that publish the application.
