Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000
Environment
MetaFrame XP Feature Release 3/Service Pack 3
Siebel 7.5.2
Symptom
When MetaFrame is installed on a server with Siebel, it is not possible to switch between browsers.
When installing MetaFrame XP Feature Release 3/Service Pack 3, the Siebel dedicated client launches but when it trys to run the Web page either http://localhost/ or if you are using the other FQDN http://FQDN.com
The following error message appears:
“The page cannot be displayed.”
Cause
After applying MetaFrame XP Feature Release 3, certain applications that rely on the following registry keys to process certain File Type Associations may not work.
The problem was that the registry key was looking at iexplore from the system32 file in Citrix and not the Microsoft iexplore.
Resolution
Prior to Feature Release 3, the HTTP key read:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command\"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome
After Feature Release 3, the HTTP key read: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command\"ServerFTA.exe"%
WARNING! This fix requires you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
Change the registry key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command\"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
To
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command\ms iexplore.exe
