Symptoms
• Some or all users cannot shadow sessions that are on a different server than they are logged on to.
• Sessions on the same server can be shadowed without problems.
• Cross Server shadowing with two RDP sessions and the use of Terminal Server Administration may fail.
• Users may experience different errors, depending on how they try to initiate shadowing.

• The security log in the event viewer should contain an event similar to this one:

Cause
The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this machine. In this case logon type 3, which indicates a network logon event.
Resolution
Assign the right “Access this computer from the network” to the users / groups in question. This could be done via the local security settings or a domain-level policy.
