SYMPTOMS
On Windows NT Server, Terminal Server Edition, running MetaFrame 1.0 and 1.8, Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) clients might be able to see other users' automatically created printers in the Printers window. However, if the Printers window is refreshed, the other users' automatically created printers disappear.
CAUSE
When an automatically created printer is added, it appears in the Printers window for all other logged-on users. The security descriptors on these printers are then changed to special access for only the current user. When this security change occurs, other clients are not notified and the screen is not refreshed.
RESOLUTION
Service Pack Information

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
