How does Citrix IMS licencing work?
How does Citrix IMS licencing work? How does Citrix IMS licencing work?
The only licensed component of IMS is the Installer. There will be other Citrix licensing issues like MetaFrame, WinFrame, RMS, Secure ICA (pre FR1), etc. It is important to remember for the Citrix IMS test that licensing refers to IMS licenses unless stated otherwise.
So on this exam:
Non- IMS licenses are not an issue.
Novell licenses for a file server are not an issue.
Windows NT licenses are not an issue.
Backup-packager operating system licenses are not an issue.
To break it down by IMS components:
Installer- Only Licensed component
File server- No Citrix License
Packager- No Citrix License
Backup Packager Operating system - No Citrix License
\\\\\\
The packaging process has the following requirements:
Packager OPERATING SYSTEM matches the Installer OPERATING SYSTEM . WinFrame to WinFrame, MetaFrame to MetaFrame
The Packager must be backed up. The clean Packager Operating system is backed up from the Back-up packager operating system .
The Packager.exe application is used to create the package and script during the installation.
The package is stored on a file server.
The packager Operating system is restored while booted to the Back-up Packager Operating system (BUPOS).
