Using Citrix WinFrame Version 1.7, the BOOT.INI file on a Compaq multiprocessor server is not updated properly with the HAL Recovery Option from Compaq Server Support (SSD) for Microsoft Windows NT Version 3.51.
There is no immediate indication that the BOOT.INI file was not updated. No error messages occur during the installation process. In addition, the Windows NT Event Log shows no error messages when the server is started.
The only indication that the error has occurred is that the HAL Recovery Mode option is missing from the BOOT.INI file and, consequently, from the Citrix WinFrame Boot screen.
Before installing the HAL Recovery Option with Citrix WinFrame 1.7, at a command prompt. type change user /install. When the server is rebooted the mode returns to change user /execute.
