When a user executes the Exchange Client the first time, a setup wizard is presented to the user to define his/her Exchange user profile. If the user is not presented with the setup wizard the first time he/she runs the Exchange Client, it usually indicates that the system is in CHANGE USER /INSTALL mode. If the Exchange Client is executed in CHANGE USER /INSTALL mode, the current user's profile settings are stored in the Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixInstallSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows Messaging Subsystem
When the system is put back in CHANGE USER /EXECUTE mode and subsequent users execute the Exchange client, the above key is replicated to the Registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows Messaging Subsystem
The data that is replicated will be incorrect for subsequent users because it still pertains to the user who ran the Exchange Client originally in CHANGE USER /INSTALL mode.
To resolve this issue, login as an administrator and delete the "Windows Messaging Subsytem" key from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. You will also need to delete the "Windows Messaging Subsystem" key from each user profile for those users who have already run the Exchange Client. Once these steps are performed, each user will be presented with the Exchange setup wizard when he/she first executes the Exchange Client.
