In a multihomed server environment it may be required that different network cards use unique ICA ports. This is useful in preventing external users from using the default port of 1494 to make a connection. The example below requires internal users to connect on ICA port 1492 and have the external users connect on port 1520.

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

Note: The value for your specific environment will depend on the network requirements. All values must be in hexaidecimal format.

1. Using Citrix Connection Configuration set the existing ICA-TCP winstation to use the internal NIC only.

2. Run Regedt32 and make the following registry change:

HKey_Local_MachineSystemCurrentControlSetControlTerminalServerWinStationsICA-tcp
PortNumber : REG_DWORD = 0x5D4

3. Create a second ICA listener, called ICA-TCP-external, enable it only on the external NIC.

4. Run Regedt32 and make the following registry change:

HKey_Local_MachineSystemCurrentControlSetControlTerminalServerWinStationsICA-tcp-external
PortNumber : REG_DWORD = 0x5F0

5. In the ICA Client , add : XXX after the server address or published application name, where : XXX is the assigned port number established in Steps 2 and 4.
