Symptoms

The Citrix XML port on Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 may have been changed from “Sharing with IIS” to the default port of 8080.

Cause

This is due to incorrect changes applied by several hotfixes for Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 (refer to CTX107785 – Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 Hotfix Install May Change Citrix Registry Key Values).

The following is a list of hotfixes that may cause this issue:

Resolution

Change the Citrix XML Service back to sharing a port with Internet Information Services (IIS):

1. Stop the Citrix XML Service on your server.

2. Unregister the Citrix XML service by using the following command: ctxxmlss /u.

3. Shutdown and restart your server.

After restart, open the Management Console for MetaFrame Presentation Server and go to your server’s properties > MetaFrame Settings, and verify that “Sharing with IIS” is seen in the TCP/IP port field of the Citrix XML Service section.
