Products: Conference Manager for Presentation Server 4.0

Symptoms

Installing Conferencing Manager 4.0 on a Presentation Server 4.0, with a hotfix installed, triggers the Presentation Server 4.0 installation routine.

Cause

The option “Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object and all child objects. Include these entries explicitly defined here” for the registry key HKLM\\Software\\Citrix\\ProductCodes is cleared by the installation of Conferencing Manager.

Resolution

WARNING! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Make sure you back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

Manually modify the above registry key.

Through the Group policy Snap-in:

1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.

2. Navigate to the Citrix Servers OU, right-click it and select Properties.

3. Add a new GPO for the OU and click Edit.

4. Expand Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings, right-click Registry and select Add key.

5. Add the Machine\\Software\\Citrix\\ProductCodes key, then click OK.

6. On the Security tab, click Advanced.

7. Select the Allow inheritable Permissions check box and click OK twice.

8. In the Add object windows, select the Replace existing permissions on all subkeys with inheritable permissions option.

Run the gpupdate /force command after installing Conferencing Manager.
