Summary

Citrix Access Essentials 1.x provides small and medium sized business (typically between 50 and 250 employees) simple, secure and cost-effective access to line-of-business applications.

Citrix Access Essentials uses existing Citrix technologies to provide Web access to applications. The user experience is consistent for local and remote users.

While the technologies employed will be familiar to those experienced with Citrix products, they will also notice that some features and capabilities of Citrix Presentation Server do not function or are not supported with Citrix Access Essentials. The remainder of this document outlines the unsupported aspects of Citrix Access Essentials.

Dual Network Interface Cards

Servers containing multiple Network Interface Cards are not supported. Citrix Access Essentials is not designed to take advantage of servers containing multiple Network Interface Cards and has only been validated on servers running a single network interface card.

In addition, only one IP address may be bound to the single network interface card. This is done to reduce the potential administration effort.

Program Neighborhood and Program Neighborhood Agent

Connections via Program Neighborhood or Program Neighborhood Agent are not supported. Only connections through Web Interface are supported.

Components on more than one server

All components (i.e. license server, Web Interface, Secure Gateway, and Presentation Server) must be installed on the same server. Installing one or more components on another server is not supported.

Sharing licenses with other Citrix products

The license server component of Citrix Access Essentials may not be used to serve licenses for any other products than Citrix Access Essentials. By design, Citrix Access Essentials only obtains licenses from the local license server, regardless of the configured license server address.

Changing the XML port

The default XML port for Citrix Access Essentials is TCP Port 8001. Changes to this port number are not supported.
