Attempts to install the English version of Citrix Access Essentials 1.0 on some non-English versions of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 result in the following dialog box:

Error: Installation of Citrix Access Essentials has failed.

Note: This dialog box also appears if the installation fails for other reasons.

The referenced log file contains the following line:

“Error adding members to Remote Desktop Users group”

The French, German, and Spanish language versions of Citrix Access Essentials 1.0 successfully install on the corresponding version of Windows Server 2003, but also fail to install on other language versions of Windows Server 2003.

This installation error occurs when Citrix Access Essentials 1.0 is installed on a non- corresponding language version of Windows Server 2003. Citrix Access Essentials 1.0 is only supported when installed on the corresponding language version of Windows Server 2003.

Resolution

Download the attached .zip file and extract the contents. Using the updated setup.exe file from the .zip file, type the following command to install Citrix Access Essentials:

setup.exe /eonfix /cdroot

where
is the location of the Citrix Access Essentials 1.0 installation media. For example, if the Citrix Access Essentials 1.0 CD is inserted into drive D, the full command is:

setup.exe /eonfix /cdroot D:\

Optional

It is also possible to create an updated CD image that includes the updated setup program. To do this, copy all of the files from the installation CD onto a local drive, then copy the following source files from the attached .zip file so that they replace the original CD image files on the local drive:

Source (from .zip file)

Destination (CD image)

setup.exe

\setup.exe

setup.ini

\setup.ini

MPS_en_on_fix.mst

\Setup\Transforms\MPS_en_on_fix.mst

resource\en\setupUI.dll

\resource\en\setupUI.dll

To install from an updated CD image, run setup.exe with the /eonfix command line option by typing the following command:

setup.exe /eonfix

Note: Do not use the /eonfix command-line option when installing Citrix Access Essentials 1.0 on the English language version of Windows Server 2003 operating system, as this results in an unsupported installation.
