Symptoms

Visio 2003 exhibits erratic mouse movements.

Cause

Some of Visio's display options are disabled through ICA. This problem doesn't occur when accessing Visio through RDP.

Specifically, Visio's "Text Display Quality" option (under Tools -> Options -> View) is disabled. The inability to configure "Higher quality text display" results in low quality diagrams.

In Visio 2003, the Smooth drawing and Higher quality shape display options under Tools > Options > View > Display Options are unavailable and their state cannot be changed. This occurs because Presentation Server disables menu animations in ICA sessions. With menu animations disabled, Visio 2003 disables these two display options.

Status

At the time of this latest update, a public fix for Presentation Server 4.0 is unavailable. Consult the Citrix Knowledge Base, by searching 122489, to see if the hotfix for Presentation Server 4.0 is available. This article will be updated at a later time.
