Adding a Second STA Overwrites the Existing Entry in the Access Gateway Administration Tool Adding a Second STA Overwrites the Existing Entry in the Access Gateway Administration Tool
Citrix states in their article: CTX108361
Document ID: CTX108361, Created on: Jan 3, 2006, Updated: May 16, 2006
Products: Citrix Access Gateway 4.1, Secure Gateway for MetaFrame 2.0, Secure Gateway 3.0
Symptoms
Under certain circumstances, when trying to add a second Secure Ticket Authority (STA) to the Authentication tab in the Access Gateway Administration tool, the details of the first STA are overwritten.
Cause
If the Presentation Server, or the server hosting the STA, has been cloned the details in the configuration of the STA are the same on both servers, as these are not changed when the computer hostname is changed.
Each STA should have a unique STA Identifier (UID), to identify it from other STAs on the network.
The Access Gateway Administration tool assumes the information for the STA with this UID is being updated and overwrites the existing record.
Resolution
There is no longer a separate installer for the STA.
1. Locate the file CtxSta.config (normally under %programfiles%\Citrix\System32 on Presentation Server 4.0 or Inetpub\Scripts if IIS port sharing is used).
2. Open CtxSta.config in a text editor, such as Notepad.
3. Change the value of the UID to a unique value and save the file. It should now be possible to add multiple STAs to the Access Gateway.
4. After making the change(s), restart IIS or the XML Service as appropriate.
