No Printouts from Microsoft Office Photo Editor ...when using the Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 Adv

Symptoms

There are no printouts from Microsoft Office Photo Editor when printing with the Advanced Universal Print Driver from a Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 server.

Cause

Microsoft Office Photo Editor sends the print data as RAW data.

When printing with the Advanced Universal Print Driver in Presentation Server 4.0, the printer data has to be sent in EMF format to the printer.

Resolution

Avoid client side rendering of the Advanced Universal Print Driver by switching to either a standard driver or a legacy PCL-based Universal Print Driver.

CTX089874 – Troubleshooting and Explaining the Citrix Universal Print Driver, UPD describes how to revert the Advanced Universal Printer function back to a legacy PCL-based Universal Print Driver.

Microsoft has replaced Photo Editor with a new photo editing and catalog program in Office 2003, Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
