1. If a user was running a published application in a seamless session,
disconnected from that session, and then started another application, the
second application opened in a new seamless session. If the user then
connected to the first application again, that application would run in the
new seamless session instead of reconnecting to the disconnected session.
This occurred in the following three scenarios:
* Wsxica.dll did not properly keep track of the initial program name in
the winstation extension context
* By default, the functionality was ON
* The MetaFrame shell process (Wfshell) was not properly identifying
whether or not the application was in a seamless session in the
disconnect/connect sequences
This fix resolves the problem in the following manner:
* The program name in the winstation extension context is populated
properly in Wsxica
* By default, the functionality is now OFF
* The MetaFrame shell process (Wfshell) properly identifies whether or
not the application is in a seamless session
For the functionality to work, make sure the following registry key is set
to 1:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix
\ReconnectWithNewApplication
All applications now correctly open in the first seamless session. [#50601]
2. Other users could see an autocreated printer if the Comment field on the
printer's Properties page did not have "Autocreated Client Printer" in it.
An Access Control Entry (ACE) was added to the printer even if the Comment
field on the printer's Properties page did not have "Autocreated Client
Printer" in it. This fix modifies how we verify an autocreated printer by
referencing a comment in the registry. If the printer is there we add an
ACE. Other users cannot now see an autocreated printer even if the Comment
field in the printer's Properties page does not have "Autocreated Client
Printer" in it. [#51080]
3. Performance of certain applications was considerably degraded in a seamless
session, especially when moving or dragging windows. This was caused by the
server seamless engine forcing the session to enable "Full Window Drag"
mode to send sufficient notification to the client. This setting created
significant performance overhead for certain applications. A new seamless
global flag, 0x800, has been introduced so that the seamless engine does
not change "Full Window Drag" mode when it is set.
Users can use the new seamless global flag to prevent "Full Window Drag"
change. To do so, edit the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Citrix\wfshell\TWI
Value Name: SeamlessFlags
Value Type: DWORD
Value: 0x800
With this change, degradation of performance in a seamless session no
longer occurs. [#52638]
This is a fix Incorporated In Citrix MetaFrame XP Feature Release 3 (FR3)/ Service Pack 3.
