Error: Microsoft Jscript runtime error [line: 238] object expected Error: Microsoft Jscript runtime error [line: 238] object expected
Citrix states in their article: CTX108809
Document ID: CTX108809, Created on: Feb 27, 2006, Updated: Jun 8, 2006
Products: Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, ICA Win32 Program Neighborhood Client, ICA Win32 Web Client
Symptoms
When connecting to the MetaFrame server through Web Interface, users receive the following error message:
“Microsoft Jscript runtime error [line: 238] object expected”
The connection works if you click OK on the error message.
Program Neighborhood fails if using “Use Web Browser Proxy Settings” in the firewall settings of the properties of the ICA connection.
Cause
The client machine may be using a proxy auto-configuration script which leads to this Javascript interpreter error when the ICA executes it. The fallback in case of an error in a PAC script would be to try a direct connection … which apparently succeeds.
Resolution
You can test removing the option to use “Automatic configuration script” or setting up a Web Interface to ignore the client proxy configuration.
If the end user needs the use of the script you can try using the IP of one of the proxy servers and test one by one. More information can be found in CTX103872 – Error: Cannot connect to Citrix Server. Proxy detection failure: Improper result from proxy auto-configuration script..
