Known Issues in this Release

The following is a list of known issues in this release. Read it carefully before installing the product.

Caution: Some instructions below direct you to use Microsoft Registry Editor. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Setting up pass-through with smart card authentication

Users who log on to Windows using explicit credentials and then subsequently access a site configured for pass-through with smart card authentication are presented with a Welcome to Windows dialog box when launching applications. To cancel this dialog box, users must press right-ALT (ALT GR) + DELETE. To prevent this problem, create separate sites for users logging on with smart cards and users logging on with explicit credentials. [#144611]

ICA file saves to disk during plugin launch

In some cases, when a plugin is launched, the .ica file is saved as a plain text file on the user's hard disk. However, this does not prevent the plugin from launching successfully. [#146110]

Error message when attempting to connect using deprecated plugins

This release of the Web Interface does not support the use of plugins prior to Version 6.20. When attempting to connect to a remote application with an earlier plugin, you may encounter the error “50: Cannot connect to server.” The recommended solution is simply to upgrade to the latest versions of the plugins. However, if this is not possible, the error may be prevented by editing the template .ica files as follows:

  1. Using a text editor such as Notepad, open the following files: default.ica, bandwidth_high.ica, bandwidth_low.ica, bandwidth_medium.ica, and bandwidth_medium_high.ica. These files are typically located in the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\SiteName\conf directory on IIS and the /WEB-INF directory of the Web Interface site on Java application servers.
  2. Locate and delete the following lines in each file:
    DoNotUseDefaultCSL=On
    BrowserProtocol=HTTPonTCP
    LocHttpBrowserAddress=!

Native plugin cannot be upgraded on devices running Windows XP Embedded

The Web Interface may offer to install or upgrade the native plugin on devices running Windows XP Embedded; however, the installation will fail. You can avoid this issue by manually installing the latest version of the native plugin on the embedded device. If this is not possible, you can use the Access Management Console to stop these installation captions from appearing:

  1. On the Windows Start menu, click All Programs > Citrix > Management Consoles > Access Management
    Console
    .
  2. In the left pane, select a XenApp Web site and click Manage published resources and clients > Manage client deployment.
  3. Click Client Detection.
  4. Under Display client detection notification, select either Only if published resources cannot be accessed or Never.

Using Kerberos fails when configuring delegation for AD FS on Windows Server 2008

Because of an issue with Windows Server 2008, configuring Active Directory to use Kerberos only for authentication when trusting Citrix servers for delegation causes authentication to fail. To avoid this problem, use the Use any authentication protocol setting instead of the Use Kerberos only setting that you are instructed to use in the Web Interface Administrator's Guide.

Restarting IMA service on centralized configuration server causes discovery to fail

If the Access Management Console discovery task has been configured to contact a configuration server for centrally configured sites, which are deprecated in this release of the Web Interface, restarting the Independent Management Architecture (IMA) service on the configuration server causes discovery to fail with a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) error. To avoid this problem, ensure that you manually stop the ConfigMgrSvr.exe process on the centralized configuration server whenever you restart the IMA service. [#188018]

Reloading the Applications screen in Safari starts published resources

Because of an issue with Safari, accessing a published resource and then reloading the Web Interface Applications screen causes a new instance of that published resource to be started, even if the user exited the published resource before reloading the Applications screen. [#192903]

It is not even remotely our fault, and we are in no way prepared or willing to accept any liability, not even slightly, ever. We are, in fact completely and utterly blameless, in that it is definitely not our concern, and no blame can possibly be laid at our doorstep, even if we had one, the possession of which we hereby reserve as being entirely our own free choice. The onus is not on us at all, and furthermore, never has been. The entire matter is wholly beyond our control, and completely out of our hands, each of which are washed scrupulously clean of the whole business.
