Virtual Desktop Users Are Displayed as their Security Identifier Instead of Username
productFamilyKey3 = "xd"; topics3 = "General_Access Management Console"; productFamilyKey = productFamilyKey3.replace("/","--") + "/"; topics = topics3.replace("/","--") + "/";
Symptoms
When using the Access Management Console to view users that can access virtual desktops, some users may be displayed by their Security Identifier (SID) instead of the username.
Cause
A user shown by SID occurs when the username associated with the SID cannot be found. This can happen if the XenDesktop farm is available to users in multiple forests. Consider the following scenario:

In this scenario, there are two domains: Domain1 and Domain2. Each domain is in a separate forest and both are joined by a forest trust. XenDesktop 2.0 is deployed in Domain1 however virtual desktop users exist in both Domain1 and Domain2. The farm Organizational Unit and the Desktop Delivery Controller machines are contained in the Active Directory for the forest containing Domain1.
Resolution
The administrator or the machine the administrator is using to run the Access Management Console must be in Domain2 for the users from Domain2, or any other domain in the same forest as domain 2, to be resolved and displayed by username. An administrator from Domain1 running the Access Management Console on a machine in Domain1 will see users from Domain2 as just SIDs – in other words they will not be resolved. Users in the same forest as the domain in which XenDesktop 2.0 is deployed will always be resolved.
