Summary
This article explains how to use the XenDesktop Setup Wizard, to create desktops in a different trusted domain to that in which it is installed. This article assumes that all the other XenDesktop components are installed in the same domain as the XenDesktop Setup Wizard.
Requirements
CTX119035 - XenDesktop Setup Wizard, Version 2.1.33267 - For Citrix XenDesktop 2.1 - For Windows Server 2003 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Procedure
1. Download and install XenDesktop Setup Wizard, Version 2.1.33267
2. Run the XenDesktop Setup Wizard as the user of the Domain in which you would like the desktops to be created.
Additional Information
Environment setup changes are required to enable the desktops to be successfully provisioned and registered with the Desktop Delivery Controller. This assumes that all XenDesktop components are installed on Domain A, and you would like the desktops/machines created in Domain B, and the users for these desktops are users of Domain B.
Use the instruction below:
1. Ensure the Domains trust each other and belong to the same forest in the Active Directory. Also ensure the Forwarders are set to each other for each domain's Domain Name Service (DNS) server.
2. Run the Provisioning Server Configuration Wizard as the domain administrator of Domain B, to give the user permissions to access the Farm.
3. In the Access Management Console, add the domain administrator of Domain B to be used to run the Setup Tool, as a full Administrator for the Farm, using the Administrators node.
4. Ensure that the Domain Users group of Domain B is added as a member of the Distributed COM Users group of the Desktop Delivery Controller machine.
5. Ensure the virtual disk image for the virtual desktop is a member of Domain B.
